IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT CHANGES AT THE
UNIVERSAL CENTER FOR POSITIVE LIVING

For those unable to attend….the following announcement was made during the Sunday celebration June 18, 2006 (after a fabulous lesson on dealing with change by Rev. Cheryl):  

It is with great happiness and excitement that we announce to our members and friends that Rev. Margo Ruark has accepted an offer from Rev. Mike Gerdes to be co-pastor at the Center for the New Humanity which will be opening in September in the southwest suburbs. Rev. Margo intends to serve as co-Pastor of the UCPL until the end of August and support the church during this time of transition.  “The decision was for me a personal one,” said Rev. Margo.  Rev. Cheryl will continue as sole Pastor and lead the UCPL into its next phase of spiritual growth and greatness. 

Rev. Cheryl says, "Change is always good. Change is always an opportunity for growth. I have a clear vision for the expansion and success of the UCPL and I know the same for Rev. Margo. This change is good for the both of us, for the UCPL, and Religious Science International.”

At the June Board meeting, Mr. Mike Lazarski submitted his resignation as Treasurer and from all his other duties at the UCPL, effective August 6. Mike is happy to train people who are open to learning about some of the things he does for the church: sound system, treasurer, our emailing process and filling bookstore orders for CDs and music. Rev. Cheryl said, "We will miss him but we also know that life is unfolding perfectly for Mike."  Since the Treasurer is a Board position and must be voted on by the membership, more information on this opportunity will be forthcoming in the near future.
